    Hadhrat Mufti Saheb studied hifz and five years of the ‘aalim course at the Waterval Islamic Institute under the great saint Haafiz Abdur Rahman Mia (rahimahullah) and other competent scholars such as Mufti Ebrahim Sanjalvi (rahimahullah).

    After completing Mishkaat Shareef, Hazrat Mufti Saheb took admission into Darul Uloom Deoband, India, where he completed the Mishkaat and Daurah Hadeeth levels under great scholars like Hazrat Qaari Muhammad Tayyib Saheb (rahimahullah), Hazrat Mufti Mahmood Hasan Saheb Gangohi (rahimahullah), Moulana Anzar Shah Kashmiri (rahimahullah), (the son of Moulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri [rahimahullah]) and many others.

    Upon completion, Hazrat Mufti Saheb spent a considerable amount of time (approximately 9 months) with his Shaikh, Hazrat Moulana Maseehullah Khan Saheb (rahimahullah), of Jalalabad, the khaleefah of Hazrat Moulana Ashraf Ali Thaanwi (rahimahullah) and held a formal relationship of islaah with him until the demise of Hazratji (rahimahullah) in 1992.

    Hazrat Mufti Saheb completed the ifta course under the supervision of the Grand-Mufti of India Hazrat Mufti Mahmood Hasan Saheb Gangohi (rahimahullah).

    Hazrat Mufti Saheb received khilaafat from both Hazratji Moulana Maseehullah Khan Shaeb (rahimahullah) and Hazrat Mufti Mahmood Hasan Saheb Gangohi (rahimahullah), both belonging to the Chishti Silsilah of Tasawwuf.

    Hazrat Mufti Saheb has since been involved in making the islaah of many people who have initiated a link with him. For this purpose an islaahi majlis is held four times a week after Asr Salaah at the madrasah masjid. During the month of Ramadhaan an i’tikaaf program for the entire duration of the month is held.

    Besides islaahi efforts and other administrative duties, Hazrat Mufti Saheb personally teaches the famous Book of Hadeeth Jamius Saheeh, famously known as Bukhaari Shareef and Sunan Abi Dawood.

    Hazrat Mufti Saheb has also spearheaded many other projects in various areas. Of particular significance is the Maktab project of the Jamiatul Ulama (KZN) that presently has under its wing over 100 makaatib in rural and residential areas.

    Hazrat Mufti Saheb also actively offers his services answering istiftaas (questions) received by the public. He also serves in an advisory capacity to many madaaris affiliated to Madrasah Ta’leemuddeen.
